If you’ve been scouring the web for a dentist in Sheffield, you may not actually be any the wiser for trying to find out who to visit. At Sandygate Dental, we aim to provide the best care for all of our patients. You may have read this before on the search engine’s list of results. Read on to find out why we’re different.
Sandygate Dental is a private dental practice with an NHS contract. When you have booked your initial consultation with one of our friendly receptionists, we look forward to meeting you and giving you a bit of dental TLC.
What does the initial consultation involve?
After relaxing in our comfortable waiting room, you will have a 30 minute appointment which should give you plenty of time to let us know all about you. We want to listen to your thoughts and feelings about your smile and find out what your hopes are for having healthy teeth and gums that look and feel great. During this time, you can pick our brains and ask us as many questions as you like (we love a good quiz!) After we have a full picture of your dental history and your aims for your smile, we will then give you an extensive assessment.
What does the extensive assessment involve?
Don’t worry - this won’t be a written test! In fact, all you will need to do is sit back and let our dentist in Sheffield do the hard work. In order to carry out a thorough assessment of your mouth, our dentist will look at the condition of your teeth, gums, jaw and your bite. They will also take X-rays of your mouth to see what’s going on inside that can’t be seen from the outside. They will also give you an oral cancer screening. Preventive measures such as this can be very important in ensuring anything that needs treating is picked up on as quickly as possible.
Once all of this information has been gathered, your dentist in Sheffield will then be able to make a bespoke treatment plan for you. During this decision making process, you will be fully involved in discussing the options available to you, so you will be able to take control of what is decided upon and feel fully confident about what any treatment you need will be. The final part of the extensive assessment stage is expert advice from your dentist about how to keep your mouth healthy, which will help to ward off any potential future issues. Once your treatment plan and tips for maintaining a healthy smile have been given, you simply need to head back to the receptionist to book in for any further appointments you will need, to get you started on your journey towards a super smile.
Are treatments expensive?
We offer a range of membership plans which are paid monthly. We also have finance deals to help you spread the cost and we have an itemised price list so that you can plan for the costs of any treatments you are considering.
