Invisalign Sheffield is often mistaken for being the generic name for clear aligners, however actually they are one of the largest brand providers of this treatment both on a national, and global scale. Invisalign Sheffield has produced over four million happy smiles on an international level, but what makes these aligners so popular?
Could Invisalign work for you?
If you are one of our patients looking to straighten the appearance of your misaligned smile but wishing to stay away from obvious dental work, then the answer could be yes. Invisalign Sheffield clear aligners serve as a modern alternative to conventional metal braces. With their transparent, plastic material leading to a discreet, unobtrusive appearance, it’s no wonder our patients love them.
How does Invisalign compare to traditional orthodontics?
Traditional metal braces have proven undeniably effective within the field of dental care for a large number of years. Despite their efficient nature however, many of our patients are now looking for more discreet orthodontics. Invisalign clear aligners at our practice, Sandygate Dental, answer the demand for subtle orthodontics, whilst producing convenient and superior orthodontic results.
The steps to your new smile
Despite their invisible appearance being the main appeal for many of our patients, they also produce spectacular dental results whilst following a simple process which works around you, the patient. Initially, the first step is to complete a ‘case assessment’.
So what happens next?
A case assessment is essentially a simple selection of photos which are used to determine whether a patient is suitable for the Invisalign treatment or not. If our dental specialists decide that the treatment is right for your individual dental case, then impressions can be taken.
What to expect from this stage of the process
Many patients may feel reluctant to seek orthodontic care due to the unpleasant impression putty which often comes hand in hand with more traditional brace options. Invisalign embraces the latest advancements within dental technology, which makes for a more comfortable impression experience.
X-rays and digital scans are employed to create custom-made aligners to fit snugly around your teeth. A digital treatment plan is created using state-of-the-art dental technology which is also used to show patients what their results will look like post-treatment. This three-dimensional video not only allows our patients to take a glimpse at their post-treatment smiles, however it can also serve as motivation during the Invisalign treatment process.
Entering the final stages of the process
During the penultimate stage our patients will be given a series of aligners which are to be worn every day and changed in the comfort of their own home. These aligners are typically changed every one to two weeks (as instructed by our dentist) and are suggested to be worn for 22 hours a day.
Maintaining your normal oral hygiene regime
Invisalign is not only hard to detect within the mouth, however the aligners are also extremely convenient, and can be removed in order to enjoy all of your usual foods, and maintain your normal oral hygiene routine.
The last step
Patients can expect to be invited back to the practice every four to six weeks in order for us to monitor their progress, and be given their new aligner trays. And after treatment, retainers are needed in order to maintain your new straight smile.
