Our emergency dentist services are here to help you when you have had an accident or require urgent dental care in Sheffield. We understand that dental pain can be distressing, and our team is here to support you.
What is an urgent dental problem?
If you have had, or are experiencing, trauma, pain, infection or swelling, then we would recommend seeing a dentist urgently. Examples include: breaking a tooth whilst eating, something hitting your face or mouth, noticing swelling in your mouth, your face being swollen, dull pain or sharp pain, a filling or crown coming out, finding an ulcer/lesion, uncontrollable bleeding.
We categorise dental problems into ‘urgent’ and ’emergency’ care, so that we can provide the most appropriate care at your emergency dentist appointment.
Emergency dentist – I’m not an existing patient
We are able to see new patients with dental emergencies, and often have availability within 24-48 hours. Choosing the right dentist can feel overwhelming, and we are here to ensure that your experience with us is seamless and supportive.
What happens in an emergency dentist appointment?
Our emergency dentist appointments are designed to help you get out of pain and diagnose your problem. We may be able to complete your treatment in this appointment. If the treatment is more complex or requiring a longer appointment, we may temporize your tooth and schedule a further appointment to complete the treatment.
Sepsis awareness – when should I go to A&E?
When you speak with our team we will ask you questions about your problem, both to help us provide the most appropriate emergency dentist appointment, but also to check for signs of Sepsis. If you think you may have Sepsis, we would advise you to call 999. There are different signs and symptoms to look out for depending on if you are an adult or a child.

I’m an existing patient – what’s the emergency dentist appointment system?
If you are an existing patient, we ask that you call us before 10am each day to be triaged for emergency or urgent care. If you are on holiday, and have a Membership Plan with us, you have access to the Worldwide Dental Emergency Assistance Scheme, which you can find out more about here:
