Alongside our range of Facial Aesthetics Sheffield treatments at Sandygate Dental, we are excited to bring Ameela polynucleotides to your local dentist in Sheffield.
Polynucleotides are a skin rejuvenation treatment which improve overall skin quality by boosting collagen production to give a long-lasting bio-stimulating effect. They offer an alternative to dermal filler and anti-wrinkle injections, or can be used alongside these treatments for optimal results.
What are Polynucleotides?
Ameela polynucleotides are highly purified DNA fragments taken from salmon which are injected just underneath the skin to target skin cells. The purification and sterilisation methods during production ensure there are no proteins present to reduce the chance or allergy or immune reactions. This gives a much higher safety profile compared to dermal fillers and are suitable for all skin types and colours.
Ameela polynucleotides can be used in multiple areas of the face, neck and body, with the most popular area being under the eyes.
What are the benefits of Facial Aesthetics Sheffield Polynucleotides Treatment?
Once the polynucleotide molecules enter the skin cells, they stimulate several signalling pathways which help to repair and regenerate the skin. These include:
- Increased collagen production for tighter, firmer skin
- Increased elasticity of the skin
- Improves blood flow to allow for tissue healing
- Reduces pigmentation
- Anti-oxidant effects to reduce inflammation and skin redness
- Instant moisturising action as well as progressive hydration of the skin
- Improved skin texture with less noticeable pores, acne scars and stretch marks
All these benefits combined reduces the rate at which the skin ages through natural and deep tissue regeneration. The biostimulator effect of the polynucleotides results in firmer, smoother, brighter and healthier looking skin after only a few minutes, but also develops over time to give long-lasting results.
What happens at my appointment?
Prior to the Ameela polynucleotides treatment, a topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin. Either a mesotherapy technique is used to inject small deposits of polynucleotides under the skin in multiple sites, or a microcannula is used to spread the product evenly over a wide area of skin.
How many appointments will I need?
It is recommended to have a course of 3 sessions of Ameela polunucleotides treatment at Sandygate Dental, with 2-4 weeks between each treatment. This gives time for the biostimulatory effect to develop to give the best possible results for your skin health. After this, a single session of polynucleotides is recommended every 6-12 months.
How safe is Polynucleotides Treatment?
Here at Sandygate Dental, we put patient safety as a priority. Polynucleotide treatment has been shown to have a low risk of complications with minimal side effects. Any swelling and redness to the injection site tend to settle in 1-2 days. Very few cases of vascular occlusion have been reported (where the injected product blocks a blood vessel) and all have resolved quickly with no further treatment required.
There are only a minority of people who are contraindicated for polynucleotide treatment, including pregnancy, breastfeeding, immunosuppressed and fish allergies.
What are my other options?
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are also available here at Sandygate Dental, which are a similar treatment for improving lines and wrinkles forming on the aging face. Although both deeply hydrate the skin and improve skin elasticity, they work in different ways. Dermal fillers are best used in areas which require volume replacement, they give faster results but are readily resorbed by the body.
Polynucleotides have been shown to give longer-lasting results than dermal fillers due to their bio-revitalising effect and can be used on delicate areas of the skin with much lower risks than fillers. For some cases, a combination of dermal fillers and polynucleotides can be used together.
