It’s National Smile Month between the 11th of May and the 11th of June 2026, and it’s 50 years since the start of the campaign from the Oral Health Foundation. We’re enjoying supporting their awareness campaign, helping to spread simple and helpful oral health advice to our patients and the general public.
The Oral Health Foundation is celebrating 50 years of National Smile Month this year. It began as a simple idea – to help people understand how to look after their teeth and gums at home, and not just in the dental chair. The goal is to help people learn oral health habits that will help prevent problems. Over time, the campaign grew. More dental teams took part. Schools joined in. Workplaces began to use it as part of staff wellbeing. Community groups used it as a reason to run local activities. What started as a small health campaign became a national movement, with a focus on oral health.
Here at Sandygate, our team are passionate about our patients health and wellbeing and really enjoy getting behind the National Smile Month campaign each year. From sharing educational content around oral health, to activities to engage children in their oral care routine, we always strive to go the extra mile with our patients. Keep reading to find out how you can get involved in this year’s awareness campaign!
